Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region, is known for its art, architecture, and most importantly food!

Having been to Barcelona multiple times, and considered even living there. Barca sticks out to me for only a few reasons. One is an amazing selection of restaurants, and two are the amazing selection of restaurants. Barcelona has a total of 9,196 according to TripAdvisor.

Best Restaurants in Barcelona

High-end Dining Experience

Pur (Contemporary, Spanish) $$$$

At Pur, a young and enthusiastic team with years of experience is dedicated to bringing the best ingredient in its purest form. Chef Maties Coll, who has been next to Chef Nandu Jubany for years, leads the kitchen.

Pur is one of my favorite restaurants in Barcelona at the moment. I have been to this restaurant 4 times now and still can’t get enough.

Tickets (Spanish) (1 Michelin) $$$$

Tickets present a different and informal way of living haute cuisine experience through its tapas. A playful and fun space where the room and the food create “La vida tapa”. Tickets are directed by Fran Agudo in the kitchen and by Joan Romans in the dining room.

Majide (Japanese) (Michelin Guide) $$

A Japanese restaurant that follows the path of the award-winning Chef Koy Shunka.

Mont Bar (Michelin) (Mediterranean, European) $$$$

Mont Bar serves a variety of tapas and small plates of traditional avant-garde cuisine. Menu in constant renewal based on seasonal products. A well-maintained product, always fresh, local and organic, often from their own farms, and a winery with more than 250 wines. Mont Bar combines the experience of restaurant owners in Mont (Aran Valley) with the energy of a young, avid and creative kitchen team.

Fonda Espanya Restaurante (Michelin Guide) (Mediterranean, European) $$$

In the Fonda España Restaurant, Martín Berasategui recovers the old concept of the fonds betting on the most traditional cuisine of the land with a wink of current affairs. At the head of the kitchen of the Fonda Spain is the chef German Espinosa, with years of experience under the guidelines of Martín Berasategui.

The restaurant is located in the modernist dining room originally designed and decorated by Domènech I Montaner, an environment of rich heritage interest in which historical elements are empowered and inspire new ones.

Parellada (Mediterranean, European) (Michelin) $$

The repertoire of dished making up the menu of Parellada is a reflection of the vitality of the heritage of the restaurant’s cuisine. Casseroles, roasts, rice dishes, and picas are magnificently represented in disked that have become icons of the restaurant such as the paella parellada, cannelloni, roasted lamb with twelve heads of garlic, escudella and cap I pota.

Restaurante Lasarte (Michelin) (Mediterranean, European) $$$$

Restaurante Lasarte opened its doors in January 2006,  In 2017 It was awarded 3 Michelín stars. Lasarte is much more than chef Martín Berasategui’s gastronomic vision for Barcelona. It is a spiritual project with the very best team of professionals at its forefront that strives to delight its diners with every aroma and flavor. The restaurant has a semi-private room in the main dining room and a second private dining room called the Chef’s Table for up to 8 people -located in a loft over the kitchen with a glass wall that allows guests to follow on all staging and creativity of the dishes.
